Hybrids aren’t known for being fun
to drive, but the Ford Fusion is an exception. It’s no sports sedan like the Ford Mustang, but well-weighted steering and agility let it tackle twists and turns. You don’t have to sacrifice comfort either, as the Fusion rides smoothly over most roads. The brakes can feel a bit grabby though, which is common among hybrids.
The 2020 Ford Fusion Hybrid has a slightly above-average predicted reliability rating of 3.5 out of five.
The Fusion Hybrid is covered by
a three-year/36,000-mile limited warranty and a five-year/60,000-
mile powertrain warranty. Ford also covers some of the hybrid components for eight years or 100,000 miles.
Standard active safety features
in this Ford include the Co-Pilot360 suite of driver aids, which features forward collision warning, forward automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring,
rear cross traffic alert, a rearview camera, and automatic high-beam headlights. Rain-sensing windshield wipers, adaptive cruise control and rear parking sensors are also standard.
The Fusion Hybrid also comes with Ford MyKey. This system includes additional seat belt reminders, and it encourages safe driving by letting you do things like set speed and audio volume limits for secondary drivers.
The Fusion Hybrid is available with three different gasoline engines and two hybrid drivetrains as well as all- wheel drive, the Fusion is one of the more versatile mid-size sedans, and one of the only members of its class to offer all-wheel drive. A 2.5-liter inline-4 is standard; either the optional 1.5-liter or 2.0-liter turbo-4 are better options. The Hybrid incorporates a battery pack and electric drivetrain alongside a gas 4-cylinder, while the Energi Plug-In model manages 25 miles of All-Electric driving range.
Most new Fusions come standard with an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as built-in Waze navigation that
uses your smartphone’s data plan. While the seats are comfortable (and Volvo-esque to our eyes),
the rear seat lags behind rivals in terms of leg and head room.
Scores are not yet available for 2020 although the Fusion has received good crash ratings and active safety features such as automatic emergency braking and active lane control.

The Ford Fusion Hybrid uses
a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and an 88-kW electric motor that combine to make 188 horsepower. They are paired to a continuously variable automatic transmission.
As is the case with most vehicles featuring electric motors, the
Fusion Hybrid is quick off the line with near-instant torque delivery. Acceleration after that is more leisurely. There’s plenty for driving around town, but when you need
to pass someone or merge on the highway, acceleration can take time.
The 2020 Fusion Hybrid gets an EPA-estimated 43 MPGe in the city and 41 MPGe on the highway. Those are great ratings for a midsize vehicle, but many hybrids
